This quick guide will show you how to enable JavaScript on Firefox so you can continue to enjoy the web.

Open the Firefox browser and type “about:config” in the address bar.
Open the Firefox browser and type “about:config” in the address bar. This will open a list of preferences. Type “javascript.enabled” in the search box. This will filter the list so that only items related to JavaScript are shown.
To disable JavaScript, double-click on the preference named “javascript.enabled” to toggle its value from “true” to “false”. To enable JavaScript, double-click on the preference again to change its value back to “true”.
Scroll down to the “javascript.enabled” preference.
JavaScript is a programming language that allows you to create things within a web page, such as interactive applications. Once you have JavaScript enabled in Firefox, you can choose to disable it on selected websites.
Here’s how to enable JavaScript in Firefox on Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS:
Windows and Mac instructions
1. Open the Firefox browser.
2. In the address bar at the top of the window, type about:config and press Enter. The about:config “This might void your warranty!” warning page may appear.
3. Click I accept the risk!. An about:config page with a list of preferences will appear.
4. Scroll down to the javascript.enabled preference. If it is set to true (The value should be bold), JavaScript is already enabled and you can proceed to the next step in this article to disable it on selected websites. If it is set to false (Since you are modifying preferences, they are no longerbolded by default), JavaScript is currently disabled in Firefox and needs to be enabled first before being able to disable it on select websites later on in this article To enable JavaScript: Right-click anywhere else on the about:config page and select Toggle to change the value from false to true .
Double-click the preference to change its value from “false” to “true”.
1. Open your Firefox browser, and in the top left corner, click the menu button.
2. In the popup menu, hover over “Options”. In the resulting sub-menu, select “Preferences”.
3. In the preferences window, on the left side of the screen, click “Content”.
4. On the right side of the screen, under “JavaScript”, uncheck the box next to “Block pop-up windows”.
Close the about:config tab.

3. Select the “Content” tab from the top of the page.
4. If JavaScript is disabled, check the box next to “Enable JavaScript”.
5. Click “OK” at the bottom of the page to save your changes and close the window.
